The prism is made from high-quality optical glass with a copper or silver coating, delivering maximum reflectivity and low angular deviation for accurate EDM (Electronic Distance Measurement) results. It is mounted in a sealed weather-resistant canister that protects it from dust, water, and scratches, ensuring consistent performance even in rugged outdoor environments.
 
Attached to the prism is a high-contrast target plate with bold markings (typically red & white or black & yellow) to enhance visibility from long distances, assisting with quick line-of-sight targeting by the total station operator. The assembly is compatible with most 5/8" x 11 survey poles and tribrach adapters, making it suitable for all major surveying brands.
